 Programs moved virtually or canceled

We are here for you! You can browse and borrow books, call us during business hours for help from a librarian, take part in our virtual programs, and check out our array of ebooks, streaming media, and online resources! Thank you to everyone in the Chatham area for helping do what we can to keep our community safe and healthy.

As a preventative measure, all Library programs are moved online, canceled or postponed. Additionally, all meeting room reservations made by outside groups will be reduced or canceled. Current information will be reflected on this page. For more information about our programming and how to view our online offerings, check out our online calendar.

Curbside Pickup

Curbside pickup is available at the Chatham Area Public Library!

Place holds any time online or during business hours by phone. Call 217-483-2713 for help in placing holds and for reader’s advisory.


1) Once items are pulled, you should be notified when items are available for pickup.

2) Park in an area near the front door and call us at 217-483-2713 when you arrive.

It’s help available online, all day and every day, and it’s managed by a team of lawyers from nonprofit legal aid organizations across the state. COVID HELP provides virtual assistance to solve real problems.
    • Emergency Broadband Benefit: The Emergency Broadband Benefit is an FCC program to help families and households struggling to afford internet service during the COVID-19 pandemic. This new benefit will connect eligible households to jobs, critical healthcare services, virtual classrooms, and so much more.
