Society of Midwestern Authors logoCalling All Writers!

Come join our writers' group on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. Although we have a new name, Society of Midwestern Authors, our mission is the same: help each other grow in our writing. Writers of all levels of experience and genres are welcomed for discussion, critique of our pieces, and writing exercises. Please email [email protected] for more information or to be added to the group’s email list.

At our last meeting…

…we discussed National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo). On your marks, get set…. This will be the 20th anniversary of NaNoWriMo, National Novel Writing Month which is the largest writing event in the world.  More than 300,000 writers sign up each November for the challenge of writing 50,000 words of a novel in the month of November. We hear that’s about 1,667 words per day.

The idea is to quiet the editor in your head and write your story today, not “someday”… If you’ve ever thought about writing that great American novel, maybe try it this November!  For more information about the official challenge, check out https://nanowrimo.org/.
