The Illinois Prairie Pastel Society's (IPPS) show here at the Library kicks off their area art exhbit season. IPPS President Sue Scaife says that "interest in the pastel medium has grown...[and] it's the only painting medium using pure pigment held together by a neutral binder which doesn't affect the richness, vibrancy and luminosity of the colors used."

The show will run from August-September 2019, and the Opening Reception will be held at the Library on Friday, August 23 from 5:30-7:30 PM.
